As Told By The Founder, Fred McGaver
Through my 23 plus years of experience in education and in business, I
have observed many individuals from all walks of life who have done more
than what was expected without any thought of compensation of any kind.
In my eagerness to acknowledge these selfless deeds, I have struggled
with finding a method to recognize these individuals. How do you approach
someone and say in simple words, "I observed the wonderful thing you
did. On behalf of a grateful community, I want to tell you thanks and
please keep up the good work! You are making this a better community for
us all."
Young athletes train and work at perfecting their skills; outstanding
students invest the time and effort needed to excel. Both the athlete
and the student pursuing academic excellence are tested in the public's
eye and expect to be recognized for their accomplishments. Our
communities have found meaningful ways to acknowledge their achievements
through trophies, sport's letters, diplomas and scholarships.
How do we recognize the contributions of those who don't seek
recognition and add to the value of our communities?
The Encourage America Program does just that. It puts a powerful
recognition tool in the hands of local people, civic and educational
leaders. To learn just how the program works, please read more about the program.
I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of community
leaders and organizations in the development of the Encourage America
Program. I believe it will make a difference on all the main streets of America.
Thank You and enjoy The Program,
Fred McGaver
